چکیده
Background: COVID-19 is still present in the world, though extent varies by region and country. According to World Health Organization, there have been over 617 million confirmed cases of 13 deaths worldwide since pandemic began on March 10, 2023. Aims Objectives: This a study conducted with aim providing biomarkers predict disease progression mortality based red cell indices platelet which are commonly measured as part complete blood count (CBC). Materials Methods: A prospective was during peak second wave from 2021 June 2021. The included 540 patients who were admitted Government General Hospital, Nizamabad, had tested positive for RT-PCR. Red Blood Cell (RBC), Hematocrit (HCT), like Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV), Hemoglobin (MCH), Haemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), Distribution width (RDW) Platelet (MPV), Width (PDW), Plateletcrit (PCT), Platelet–Large Ratio taken CBC analyzer Sysmex XN-1000 analyzed statistically. then followed up period 14 days track their outcomes. Results: In data, majority male n=334 (62%) n=280 (38%) female. 70.37% (n=380) survivors 29.63% (n=160) non-survivors. cell, such RDW-CV RDW-SD, PCT PDW significantly higher non-survivors compared P<0.05. Conclusion: Non-survivors levels RDW-CV, PCT, survivors. These parameters combination can be useful predicting at early stage forthcoming waves.

Prognostic Validity of Red Cell Distribution Width in Neonatal Sepsis
Background Neonatal sepsis is one of the most critical illness in neonates that is responsible for a great proportion of morbidity and mortality in neonates so early diagnosis and identification of high risk cases is a challenging aim of our study. The purpose of this study was to investigate the prognostic value of red cell distribution width (RDW), in neonatal sepsis at the time of admission ...

متن کاملThe red distribution width and the platelet distribution width as prognostic predictors in gastric cancer
BACKGROUND Increasing attention is focused on the relationship of inflammation biomarkers with malignant tumors. The purpose of the present study was to detect whether the preoperative the red distribution width (RDW) and the platelet distribution width (PDW) can be used to distinguish patients with gastric cancer (GC) or early stage GC from the healthy controls and predict the progression and ...
متن کاملAssociation between Red Cell Distribution Width and Hypertension in Tabari Cohort Population: A Case-control Study
Background and purpose: Red Cell Distribution Width (RDW) is a parameter that measures changes in red blood cell size reported in a complete blood count test. In this study, we aimed to identify the association between RDW and hypertension in Tabari cohort population. Materials and methods: In this case-control study, case group included all patients with hypertension (n= 2281) participating ...
متن کاملAssociation between Red Cell Distribution Width and Mortality in Pediatric Patients Admitted to Intensive Care Units
Background: Red cell distribution width (RDW) is a routine laboratory measure that could be used as a predictor of mortality in critically ill patients. Identification of patients at risk for mortality early in the course of PICU admission is an important step in improving the outcome. We aimed to assess the use of RDW as an early biomarker for outcome in pediatric critical illnesses. Methods:...
